Land Acknowledgment - Freedom From Addiction Land Acknowledgment - Freedom From Addiction

Freedom From Addiction acknowledges that the land on which we operate is part of the traditional, sacred, and unceded territories of many Indigenous Nations. These lands have been home to the Huron-Wendat, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Anishinaabe, and, most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, who remain the caretakers of this territory. This region, known today as York Region, has been a site of gathering, exchange, healing, and community for thousands of years.

We recognize and honour the deep connections these Nations maintain with this land, connections grounded in stewardship, respect, and a profound relationship with all living things.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work and grow on this land, and are committed to understanding the histories and rights of Indigenous Peoples as an essential part of our mission in supporting wellness and recovery.

As we work toward healing and wellness for our clients, we acknowledge the importance of learning from and respecting the values and practices of Indigenous communities, who have practiced holistic care and healing for generations. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples and pledge to engage in continuous learning and action toward reconciliation, respect, and justice.
